The Research Foundation for Mental Hygiene, Inc. has an opening for a full-time Project Administrator for the Capital District Revenue Support Field Office at the New York State Office for People With Developmental Disabilities. The selected candidate will be part of a team responsible for securing Medicaid, Medicare, SNAP, Supplemental Security Income, Social Security and other benefits for the individuals residing in OPWDD operated residences.



Responsibilities include, but are not limited to investigating and determining potential eligibility or continued eligibility for all benefits and assistance available to individuals served by OPWDD; developing benefits and entitlements; protecting and preserving assets while maintaining continued eligibility for benefits; maximizing reimbursement by establishing charges for OPWDD services and arranging payments; communicating with and coordinating between divisions, agencies, individuals and advocates; maintaining individual information in proprietary software and documentation in the individual's case record, and assisting nonprofit agencies and the developmentally disabled individuals they serve. The Project Administrator will also assist in training presentations and activities as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications:

A Bachelor's degree is required. A successful candidate should possess outstanding interpersonal and writing skills, and have demonstrated experience in managing multiple tasks, planning and prioritizing to meet differing deadlines. The candidate should be proficient in Outlook, Word and Excel with an ability to learn new software programs. The candidate should be detail oriented, a team player, and responsive to feedback. An ability to comprehend multistep instructions and correctly interpret complicated policies and procedures is critical for success in the position. Preference will be given to those with public speaking and project management experience who have a strong background in public benefits and entitlement programs (Medicaid, Social Security, SNAP or SSI).



Location:       Primary: 500 Balltown Road, Schenectady NY 12304. Subsequent work may be at 44 Holland Ave, Albany NY 12229. Minimal required travel in the Capital Region.


Salary:             Commensurate with experience
