Job Title: Research Scientist II (two openings)

Job Location: Capital District Psychiatric Center, 75 New Scotland Ave., Albany, NY 12208

Job Duties:  Responsible for developing on-going project reports for continuous quality improvement (CQI) projects aimed at improving care for those at risk for suicide and reducing hospital readmissions, analyzing project impact data, and creating ad hoc reports as needed for the Data Analytic team of the Psychiatric Services and Clinical Knowledge Enhancement System (PSYCKES). Specific job responsibilities include: extracting and preparing data for the Rand AP projects; tracking trends over time among participating and non-participating clinics at the state-wide and agency levels and summarizing analysis results; developing and refining analytic reports regarding the use of the PSYCKES application; assisting in developing technology for data analytics and model building; providing technical assistance to implementation team regarding data management and data analysis; conducting review of Medicaid data as required to assess potential defects identified in QA and from field reports; extracting and preparing Medicaid claims' data for clients on any antipsychotics; providing secure data exchange to external researchers on the Rand project; establishing and maintaining filing system, including data; responding to technical assistance questions from PSYCKES users regarding data issues; and preparing written and graphical summaries of findings and project activities for internal and external communications.

Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics or related and three (3) years of experience OR Master's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics or related and two (2) years of experience. (Experience identified above must be in data analysis). Must have experience with statistical software. The employer will accept any suitable combination of education, training, or experience.
